
Left
hander, a word derived from Latin “manus”,
which means hand, and the suffix “cus”, bearer
of physical problems, weak person, imperfect person and
gammy. Left-hander is synonymous of diversity, unfortunate
condition, even, according to Jewish and Christian tradition
the result of the malignant influence on individuals. The
Muslims don’t eat or wash by the "impure"
hand: the left. The sun rises in the east (right) and sets
in the west (left). In Greek theater, the bad characters
and the messengers of bad news entered by the left side
of the stage; the Romans invented the greeting with the
right, as a demonstration of confidence offering his hand
not armed.

the meaning of awkward
- The duch expression “twee linkerhanden hebben”
and the bulgarian”dve levi ratse”
(to have 2 left hands) both means clumsy.
- "Canhoto" in portuguese is
synonimous of devil and canhestro, means clumsy.
- "Skaios" in greek means devastating,
ill-omened.
