
Asian
Centella: is an officinal plant used to
fight the feeling of heaviness in the legs owing to peripheral
venous insufficiency. It is an excellent remedy against
capillary fragility and to favour cicatrisation in case
of varices, skin wounds and lesions: ulcers, sores and burns.
Artichoke:
is useful a liver tonic and stimulator; it helps to purify
blood, prevent the formation of gallstones owing to an excess
of cholesterol and is hence reccomended for reducing cholesterol.
Thanks to the Cynarin and caffeylquinic
acid, active agents contained in the leaves and stalks,
artichoke has a benefic effect on bile secretion; it favours
kidney functions and normalized intestinal and digestive
functions. It's used also for digestive properties.
Bilberry:
is
an officinal plant known above all for its protective action
on the retina. It helps to improve eyesight, thanks to its
tonic action it is effective also on capillaries.
Bilberry also has astringent, anti-inflammatory
and antiseptic properties: it is useful in cases of cystitis.
Dandelion:
is used to favour the excretion of bile from the gall bladder
to favour digestion and to stimulate diuresis. It is a plant
known since ancient time for its depurative and laxative
properties. It is usueful as a bitter, tonic, eupeptic,
digestive, choleretic, cholagogue and depurant.
Devil's
claw: the main effect of
this plant is anti-inflammatory and analgesic, similar to
those of non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, but without
the typical side effects that this class of drugs has. Devil's
claw contains 3 important active agents: harpagoside, harpagide
and procumbide. All 3 are monoterpenic glucosides with anti-inflammatory
properties and they do not harm the stomach.
Equisetum:
is a genus of vascular plants that reproduce by spores rather
than seeds. Hypotensive and diuretic effect are the main
properties. Equisetum arvense is known to have antioxidant
properties and be rich in minerals which play a vital role
in regulating many body functions, including nerve response,
muscle contraction, metabolism, and regulating electrolyte
balance and hormonal production.
Fennel:
is an officinal plant with anti-spasmodic, carminative,
and galactagogue properties. It's reccomended in case of
dyspepsia, irritable colon syndrome; it fights meteorism,
flautolence and the feeling of early satiety. In case of
gastro-disorders it is useful associated to characol. The
fennel seeds are known for centuries as being a tonic and
stimulating medicament for gastro-intestinal and carminative
motility and they are still registered in official pharmacopoeia.
Fucus:
is usually used in cases of thyroid deficits owing to its
contents of iodine, in the treatment of obesity, as iodine
stimulates basal metabolism in burning calories.
Ginseng:
have been used for centuries by chinese medicine as the
most energizing remedy available in nature. Its main properties
are its tonic and adaptogenic properties. Adaptogens are
substances that stimulate the brain's and adrenal gland's
functions, improve the body's resistance to chemical, physical,
mechanical and pharmacological noxious agents and helps
the body to adapt quickly to the situations it must copy
with. Ginseng is reccomended in case of fatigue, lack of
appetite and asthenia.
Guaranà:
is used as a tonic and stimulant of the central nervous
system and as cardiotonic and diuretic, it has the effect
of coffee, for this reason is reccomended in case of physical
and mental fatigue, convalescence, flues, asthenia, hypotension.
It's excellent when studyng for exams and training for sport.
Hawthorn:
the therapeutic use of hawthorn exploits
its cardiotonic properties. It is hence reccomended for
poor cardiac functions, in case of senile heart diseases
wich do not require yet the use of digital drugs. It also
has mild sedative properties capable of relaxing the central
nervous system; it has a hypotensive action; it lowers blood
pressure and improves blood circulation.
Pineapple:
has a digestive action and it is recommended for slimming
diets, cellulites (draining action), dyspepsia and inflammations
(sprains, bruises, haematoma). Its special properties are
the result f the active agent it contains:bromelain, a enzyme
capable of favouring the digestion.
Valerian:
is an officinal plant wich has been valued for centuries
for its sedative action on the central nervous system. It
has anti-spasmodic, anti-neuralgic and mildly hypnotic properties.
It is reccomended for those accefted by states of anxiety.
