Vitamin
Supplement
is used during periods of convalescence and during antibiotic
treatment, but also during pregnancy and nursing, and in
all cases in which reduced food intake does not satisfy
the organism's vitamin requirements.
When
to use vitamin A:
it’s essential for healthy vision, also promotes bone
growth and plays an active role in the formation of a child's
healthy immune system. A soluble vitamin wich stimulates
the immune system; it acts on the production of retinal
purpura. It favours and promotes the reparative processes
in altered capillaries, reinforcing the chemical-physical
bonds of the phospholipids in the cellular membrane, stimulating
the protein synthesis of the endothelial cells and the biosynthesis
of several components of the mucopolysaccharide perivascular
tissue. You can find vitamin A in all yellow vegetables like
oranges, carrots, potatoes,
When to use vitamin B:
Poor eating habits, stress, antibiotic therapy, convalescence
are only a few factors, that cause a reduction in the reserves
of the B complex vitamins, necessary in the functioning
of the immune, digestive and nervous system, the heart,
the muscles, for the production of new blood cells, also
aids in acneic therapy. You can find vitamin B in the brewer's
yeast, wholemeals anfd liver.
When to use Vitamin
C: is an excellent supplement, indicated
in case of fever, infections disease, as a supplement during
pregnancy to strengthen resistance to colds. Useful in combacting
fragile capillaries: vitamin C contributes to the synthesis
of collagen, thus strengthening the capillaries, the skin
and the mucous membrane in general (helpful in the case
of bleeding gums). It aids in the treatment of flu and viral
ailments. The bioflavonoids strengthen the activity of the
vitamin C. Vitamin C increases phagocyte function, increasing
the immune defence system and the production of antibodies,
it has an anti-oxidant action: it fights free radicals which
are damaging to the cells at every level, it is active in
the development of fibroblasts aiding them in the synthesis
of collagen, thus improving the healing process and increasing
the lumen of the capillaries, it favours the absorption
of iron and increases the percentage of haemoglobin. It
is the main vitamin in combacting scurvy: a disease characterised
by bleeding of the skin and mucous membranes due to an incorrect
synthesis of collagen. You can find this vitamin in oranges
and a lot of vegetables (cabbage, pumpkin etc..)
When to use Vitamin D.
Vitamin E plays an important role in the maintenance of
organ systems. Vitamin D regulates the calcium and phosphorus
levels in the blood. It promotes bone formation and mineralization
and is essential in the development of an intact and strong
skeleton, it inhibits parathyroid hormone secretion from
the parathyroid gland. Vitamin D affects the immune system
by promoting immunosuppression, phagocytosis, and anti-tumor
activity.
When to use Vitamin E
is an antioxidant, which means that it snatches up free
radicals, mostly in the skin, and transports them elsewhere
for removal from the body. It also protects other antioxidants
from oxidizing and becoming dangerous in the body, such
as Vitamin A. It is involved in the metabolism of cells
It is a nice supplement for your skin in general and will
help prevent damage caused by free radicals that leads to
premature aging. Vitamin E or Tocopherol
is one of the most antioxidant against free radicals which
proliferates due to the effects of pollution, poor dietary
habits, the action of solar rays and age. It protects the
retinoic photoreceptors too.
When
to use Minerals: useful in cases in which
the diet is not sufficient to provide a balanced supply
of these minerals, for example in the case of treatments
involving diuretics during which the organism is subject
to a loss of mineral salts in the urine. It is, also, useful
during the pregnancy, lactation or in periods of elevated
physical activity. Also useful for replacing lost electrolytes
in the cas of long bouts of diarrhoea.
